Working with Rachel
Hello, I'm Rachel.
I am a Otley and Leeds based counsellor and supervisor, accredited with the NCPS, with over 5 years experience working with children and young people in the school setting, with all the challenges that being a young person in the world can bring.
I have also worked for over 6 years with adults with a wide range of anxiety based issues.
I began my journey in 2017, as I felt it was time for change from over 10 years in the corporate pharmaceutical safety testing industry. I enjoyed working with people from all over the globe, but had always wanted to work more directly with helping people. What stuck in my mind was a few sessions of counselling I received as a teenager, following a particularly difficult period of my life, so I began to train as a hypnotherapist and counsellor.

I specialise in working with individual young people and adults of all ages who are dealing with various types of distress and anxiety, from a wide range of issues.
I am an integrative, compassionate counsellor who adapts to the individual, believing that no one style or type of therapy works best.
I believe in being creative, open and adaptable, and my approach is varied based on the needs of the individual.
I have significant experience of working with people with neurodiversity and the challenges that can bring, including my own management of this. I have lived experience of navigating difficult teenage years and attachment difficulties, as well as managing high levels of anxiety.
I enjoy spending time in nature and wildlife, and enjoy walking and hiking in and around Yorkshire.
